That might not be important to you. You might be quite happy where you are, but it’s always nice to know that the option is there. So many businesses, jobs and opportunities root you firmly to one geographic location. Not so with this. If you have a laptop and broadband connection, you’re in business.

So what exactly do I do to make my money?

Quite simply, I trade on the financial markets. Sounds complicated to a lot of people I know, but when you boil it down it’s pretty simple. The value of a share, currency or index can only do one of three things…it can go up, it can go down or it can stay the same. Choose right and you make money. Choose right regularly, and you make a LOT of money.

Simple? Well yes. Easy? Apparently not! You see, the vast majority of people who dabble in financial trading end up losing their shirts…or at least a few buttons. This used to puzzle me greatly, until I started to investigate exactly how other people trade, when left to their own devices. And what I discovered was that most used systems and methods that relied on rumours, ‘inside information’ blind faith and luck rather than science and logic.

The truth of the matter is simple, if not easy…

Making money in financial markets doesn’t rely on luck, or analysing the news or company balance sheets or inside information or any of a dozen other ‘indicators’ which are touted around by the so-called experts. It relies on something far more simple.

Looking at patterns which have happened in the past, and being able to identify when they will happen again in the future.

Oh sure, the news, company performance, the state of the economy and a dozen other factors have a part to play in determining the direction of markets. But when we’re looking to make money from the movement of indices, there’s no need to pay attention to any of that. Why? Because it’s all reflected and represented in easy-to-analyse patterns…provided you know what to look for.

History has a habit of repeating itself, and never more so than in financial markets.  If markets moved in a certain direction by a certain amount in particular circumstances last year, they’re very likely do it again this year. What’s going to happen next can sometimes be as clear as night following day.

Does that make sense? I hope so, because it underpins what I’m writing about today.

Anyway, I was appalled by how ‘wolly’, unscientific and undisciplined most folk were when trying to make money trading the markets,  and set about creating a  series of training programmes which would take the average person off the street and turn them into a hard-nosed logic and science-driven trader.
